Every road to recovery is unique. At 7 Summit Pathways, we help our patients begin the journey that works for them. Our outpatient treatment program is designed to provide support with a loose structure for people who need flexible treatment options. With two levels of intensity, our program is personalized for every person who enrolls in it.

Like our other treatment programs, our team schedules a mix of evidence-based and holistic therapies for each patient. We offer both group and individual therapy sessions, as well as access to supportive care from our mental health and recovery professionals. What Is Outpatient Treatment?

Outpatient treatment is a type of care that allows people to live at home while receiving therapy and counseling services. This treatment plan can be a good option for those who have completed inpatient treatment and are ready to transition to a less intensive level of care—or for those who cannot commit to an inpatient program. Outpatient treatment can vary in intensity but typically includes weekly therapy sessions and may also include medication management, skills training, and case management services.

The Outpatient Treatment Program at 7 Summit Pathways

Patients in our outpatient programs spend a minimum of eight weeks in treatment that offers a comprehensive and individualized approach designed to meet the unique needs of each person. Our program offers a variety of services that promote healing and recovery.

Level I

This lower-intensity outpatient program begins with a thorough medical evaluation as needed to determine the best mix of therapies for each person. After the evaluation, each patient learns the skills for recovery through:

  • Three hours of clinical support per week
  • One weekly family educational group
  • One individual or family therapy session per week
  • Urine drug screenings (as needed, billed separately)

Level II

After a comprehensive evaluation, patients move through our more intense outpatient program by engaging in the unique therapies that promote their healing. This program includes:

  • Six hours of clinical support per week
  • One weekly family educational group
  • One individual or family therapy session per week

Therapies We Use

As patients learn to break free from the grip of drugs and alcohol in our outpatient programs, we help them learn the skills to maintain their recovery for life. Evidence-based and holistic therapies build healthy coping mechanisms and promote every dimension of wellness.

Some of the therapies we use at 7 Summit Pathways include:

Cognitive-behavioral therapy – Our therapists help patients understand the thoughts and emotions that contribute to their addictive behaviors. They learn how to identify and cope with triggers, manage stress, and develop healthy coping mechanisms.

  • Dual diagnosis treatment – The initial comprehensive evaluation from our team helps uncover any undiagnosed mental health conditions. Patients who suffer from addiction and a mental health disorder can benefit from dual diagnosis treatment, which healthily manages symptoms from both conditions at once.
  • Community support – A strong support system is essential for recovery. In our outpatient program, patients can participate in daily support groups, including 12-step groups, SMART recovery, and refuge recovery.
  • Expressive arts therapy – Our therapists use art, music, and other creative outlets to help patients express themselves in a constructive, healthy way.
