Mental Health Counselor
Taryn is in long term recovery, having been clean since November 21, 2004. Taryn started her journey as an impaired attorney having become licensed with the Florida Bar in April of 1988. She specialized in Family Law and Criminal Defensive for 17 years prior to getting into recovery. She had her own practice in the Brandon, Florida area for 17 years. Taryn returned to school after about 5 years clean and gradated with a Masters in Mental Health in December of 2014. She completed her registered internship at HealthCare Connections of Tampa and became a Licensed Mental Health Counselor(LMHC) in March of 2017. Taryn also pursued Certification and became a Masters Certified Addictions Professional(MCAP) in April of 2018.
Taryn is an very active member of a 12-Step program and sponsors woman and participates in various service commitments for that fellowship. Taryn is passionate about her recovery and with her professional and personal experience provides the client’s at our facility an example of how to live life happy, joyous and free from mind and mood altering substances. Taryn shares great insight into how the promise of freedom from active addiction can provide life long serenity.
